In the ancient world, they believed the lives of kings and rulers were sacred. The opening chapter of the Bible makes a shocking claim: ALL human life is sacred because ALL humans have been made in the image of God. While we often fail to recognize the image-bearing status of other humans (and in so doing have become marred images ourselves), Jesus, the perfect image of God, has come to restore God’s image in us and make us agents of human flourishing once again.
