Gospel Communities
Find your people.
We all need people to do life with.
This is what the Bible insists from page 1 onward (see Genesis 2:18; 1 Cor 13:1-3; 1 Jn 4:11-12), and more recently, doctors and scientists are beginning to discover this link between relationships of love and human flourishing as well. While relationships can be (and often are) difficult in a broken world, Jesus came to make a way for us to live into the community we were made for again (Jn 13:34-35; Eph 2:11-2). At Fair Oaks, we’re all about enjoying this kind of life-giving, Jesus-centered community. One of the main ways we do this is through what we call “Gospel Communities.”
What Is a Gospel Community?
A Gospel Community is a group of people committed to living life with Jesus together. Typically made up of around 5-15 people, these spiritual families are the backbone of our church, where you’ll find support and encouragement in your walk with Jesus. While most groups have a weekly meeting time (think of it like a big, weekly family dinner), what you will find is a GC is about far more than a programed meeting time—it’s really about finding people to do life with all week long. If you want to grow in your walk with Jesus and/or make some new friends, GCs are the place for you!
